The Benefits Of A Face Primer

Hey guys!

So a lot of you have been emailing us asking is there a point in spending money on makeup primers. One word answer : YES! Here's a few benefits of using a face primer. Enjoy!
Ok so makeup primer is a gel or cream applied onto your face after moisturiser and before foundation. The purpose of a primer is to provide a smooth surface on which to apply makeup. Some primers also help your makeup stay in place, which is super important during these hot summer months!
Different brand of primers provide different benefits. One could give you smooth, flawless skin while also being a colour corrector while another could give you a smooth complexion while also decreasing breakouts and prevent dryness.
Face primers contain the ingredient Silica which controls shine. This is really good for people with oily or combination type skin because it means your makeup can go on smoothly and you won't have to worry about excess shine once you set your foundation. Primers definitely make makeup application a whole lot easier!
Benefits:
• reduce blemish scars
• reduce pimples
• reduce redness
• even out skin tone
• lock in moisture
• protect from sun damage
• smooth skin
• easier makeup application

Some of our fave primers! :
- Sally Hansen Natural Beauty $19.99
- Smashbox Photo Finish (SPF 15) $42
- Tarte Clean Slate $ 27

Yes, we know these primers are quite expensive unforch, but they last so long once used properly.
So that's what you need to know about makeup primers. If you want to know more just email us!

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Soft & Gentle Review

Hey guys!

My first impression of the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish :
This product comes in a black cardboard box. Pretty simple. The product is encased in a hard black plastic container with a see-through lid. It is a compact powder which is really good as it will last longer when you open it up. The highlighter has really pretty veining in it. It doesn't look very pigmented yet.
My review :
So I tried it on one cheek with a medium sized powder brush and on the other cheek I just used my ring finger. In my opinion, this goes on better with your fingers as, because it's a powder, it's easier to control with your fingers. Having said that, if you prefer using brushes it works perfectly fine. The smaller the brush, the better. This highlighter is very, very shimmery so only a tiny bit is needed to get that glowing look. I've been using this product for about two months now and there's hardly even a dent in it! Because it's so shimmery, it works really well when dusted over a cream base pearl on top of the cheekbones. It doesn't really layer well with blush unless you use a liquid one & let it dry before applying the highlighter. It looks really well layered on top of bronzer as it gives your face that healthy natural glow that every celeb is lusting after. It can be worn on the T zone but only if your skin isn't oily because you don't want to draw attention to your oily areas. The lasting power of this product is fab. It lasts throughout the whole day. It can be used as an eyeshadow also and gives your eyes a healthy bright look about them.
The one bad thing about this highlighter is that it does settle into fine lines so if you have a lot of these do not use this product except on your cheeks because it will only accentuate these flaws and nobody wants to draw attention to their flaws! All in all this product definitely lived up to my expectations.
Product : 4.5
Pigmentation : 5
Texture : 4.5
Longevity : 5
Application : 4
Value for money : 4.5 ($30 / €28 / £22 )

Hey guys!

Ok so before we launch into doing lots of product reviews and giving our overall scores on them, I just want to explain our scoring system.
There's six headings under which we like to talk about the products and also score them. They are :
Product
Pigmentation
Texture
Longevity
Pigmentation
Value for money
Basically what each of these mean is :
Product - does this product do what it says it does?
Pigmentation - do you need a lot of the product or is a tiny bit enough?
Texture - does it feel soft/oily/rough?
Longevity - does this product last long without long lasting products on top of it?
Application - is the product easily applied either with tools or your fingers?
Value for money - is this product worth the money you paid for it?
So that's basically it! At least now you'll understand our posts!
